8th Pay Commission Date

The draft of this commission is not yet prepared according to the reports on the internet. Before the 2024 elections, the government may get it and present the same in front of the public. In January 2026 the 8th pay commission matrix will be implemented following the proposal by the central government.

It may get postponed for up to one to two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic years. By the eighth pay commission, the lives of government workers would be fundamentally changed.

The pay scales for all government employees can change and that beneficiary retirement could get a 25% boost and this was cleared by the commission. There will be an increase of 20 to 30 percent in the payoff for central government workers according to the reports. As per the 8th pay commission, it is very difficult to guess the exact hike in the salary. Most of the experts are claiming that the basic salaries will increase by 20% approximately.

The government of India is planning to scrap the complete system of pay commissions and there are a large number of speculations. However, none of the speculations are true. Shri Pankaj Chaudhary on August 2, 2022, responded to numerous questions regarding the 8th pay commission in parliament.

One of the concerns raised was the question of whether the government is considering or not forming the 8th Central Pay Commission to review the allowances, salaries and pensions.

There is also an updation of the DA rate which is done every six months according to the rate of inflation as measured by the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPI-IW) which has been published by the Labour Bureau under M/o Labour and Employment.

An old basic salary is converted to a new one and this factor is called the ‘fitment factor’. Pre-revised basic pay is compared to revised basic pay and it is a common number. The pay increase will be determined only on this aspect.
